Handmade, kiln formed glass forms, silvered are mounted on a reclaimed roof slate. The slate has beautiful marking from aging and the weather

Grey, Amber Bronze & Chartreuse colours

Size - 35cm wide x 44cm high x 2.5cm deep. Ready to hang.

Inspired by exploring the Lakeland fells and their rock strata, waterfalls and the visual harmony of placing the glass on unique slate roof tiles. This tile was salvaged from my dad’s workshop when he retired. It has really beautiful patina and markings which directed me to the colours to use.

The glass pieces are formed in my kiln and actually start off covered in ‘stacked’ texture which melts when taken to a higher than normal temperature and leaves a shift in tones and saturation of colour which I really like. The slate has 2 wooden batons bonded to the back of the slate so when hung on a wall, the piece will sit flush to it. The slate and glass pieces are suitable for indoor and outdoor environments, however if it is going to live outside the wooden batons are designed for internal use so an alternative fixing method will be required. Please contact the studio if you would like me to assist with how to do this.
